What I do when nobody is watching...
Apparently, I spin yarn. A lot. 😄
These two little videos are just very normal moments from my craft room - nothing fancy, no big project reveal, just me sitting down and spinning wool because... well, because I like it.
I use my Ashford Country Spinner 2, which is absolutely brilliant for making lovely thick, chunky yarns.
And honestly, that is probably my favourite kind.
Big, soft, slightly wild, full of texture and definitely not trying to look too perfect.
I really enjoy the whole process of turning fibre into actual yarn. There is something very satisfying about watching it build up on the bobbin and knowing that eventually it can become part of a woven piece, a knitted project or whatever idea my brain comes up with next.
The second video also includes some professional assistance.
Crackers decided that spinning yarn was clearly a two-person job and sat on my lap to supervise the whole operation. 😆
Very helpful.
Very serious.
Definitely not in the way at all.
So yes... this is what I do when nobody is watching.
Me, a spinning wheel, a pile of fibre and sometimes a cat who believes he is part of the production team.
