Knitting, my little addiction

Knitting, my little addiction

Knitting, my little addiction

So... I bought myself another knitting machine. 😆

This time it’s a Silver Reed SK280 and I’m currently learning how to use it properly without causing complete chaos.

I had knitting machines before - a Zippy90 and a Knitmaster ES320 - but I decided I wanted something a bit newer, with a ribber, and with spare parts that are easier to find if something decides to break one day.

And I am VERY excited.

This machine gives me so many new possibilities and obviously my brain is already running faster than my hands.

New techniques, new textures, different types of knitting, more experimenting, more ideas, more yarn... exactly what I needed. Or maybe exactly what I did not need. 😆

I will still make my hats on my circular knitting machine because honestly, there is no point overcomplicating something that already works really well. The patterns I make on it are lovely and I really like the results.

But... I know myself.

I will definitely try to make a hat on the SK280 too.

Just to see what happens.

For now I’m still learning, testing things, probably doing some things completely wrong, then figuring out why they went wrong, and then trying again.

Basically normal life in my craft room. 😄

Years ago I used to write blog posts almost every day.

No idea how I managed that.

These days I think I’m much better at weaving and knitting than writing. 😆

But I thought I should try again, especially because there is always something happening here and I quite like the idea of keeping a little record of all my experiments, projects and creative chaos.

So here we are.

New machine.

New possibilities.

Same yarn addiction.

♥

And just below is a little video of me using my old Knitmaster ES320.

This one was filmed while I was knitting an edge - before the SK280 joined the family. 😄

It feels a bit funny looking back at the old machine now, especially when I’m still in the middle of learning the new one.
