HOW SF.TWIST WAS BORN - On wool, colour and finding my way back.

SF.Twist didn’t start as a brand.

It started as a way to survive my own mind.

At the beginning, there was only wool.

Wet-felting a table runner. Spinning my first uneven yarns. Buying fibres in colours so alive they almost felt unreal. Wool with glitter catching the light. Things that made my eyes happy. Things that made something soften inside me.

Working with wool lifted my mood before I even had words for it. I began creating wall decorations that didn’t want to be “pretty”.

They wanted to be touched. Soft. Uneven. Full of texture, ribbons, beads, movement. Pieces that invited hands. That felt alive. That felt like relief.

Later came scarves. Then hats. Then more tools. More looms. More ways to go deeper. Weaving. Knitting. Building my own yarns. Learning structures. Breaking them. Twisting them.

Somewhere along the way I realised:

when my hands were working, my mind could finally rest.

Craft became my way back into my body.

Back into colour.

Back into play.

Back into feeling that I was here.

Every piece I make still carries that beginning.

A part of me that once needed light.

A part of me that found it in texture, colour, repetition, softness.

A part of me that now wants to pass that feeling forward.

SF.Twist is not just what I make.

It is how it was born.

A long road.

Many inner states.

And then a twist.

From darkness into something that moves.

From heaviness into colour.

From being lost into creating.

Even the name carries that story.

Before SF.Twist, there were other names. Some of them heavy. Some of them searching. Each one a different place I stood in myself. SF.Twist is the one that stayed. Because it holds everything I am:

the fibre.

the process.

the change.

the surprise.

And the quiet hope that something beautiful can grow from difficult places.

Every woven line. Every knitted form. Every uneven edge.

There is a part of my road inside it. And if this world carries anything, I hope it carries that:

that hands can heal,

that colour can lift,

that texture can bring us back,

and that a twist can change the whole direction of a life.
